RACE DETAILS

The Zini River Estate Buffalo MTB Race takes place in the small coastal village of Mtunzini providing the perfect weekend getaway for the family. With the race offering a 10km untimed fun ride, 25km and 50km option there really is something for everyone. All of the routes include a loop in the beautiful Zini River Estate which is home to various antelope as well as an abundance of birdlife and offers great views of the Mlalazi Estuary.

The 25 km route includes some lovely flowing single track through plantations as well as indigenous forest, with riders also afforded the privilege of riding the boardwalks through the Raphia Palms. The route is suitable for riders of all levels and with a limited amount of climbing it is bound to be a popular route!

The 50 km route includes a very special section of track through the dune forests in Umlalazi Nature Reserve. Following a loop similar to the 25 km route, the 50 km riders head north over the Mlalazi Estuary and into some newly cut single track. The route boasts long sections of single track with one or two slightly technical sections for the brave. Between these however riders are treated to wonderful views of the Indian Ocean, the estuary and Ongoye Mountains
