PLEASE NOTE ENTRANTS NEED TO REGISTER AT LEAST HALF AN HOUR BEFORE THE RACE STARTS.

EVENT INFORMATION:

Ngoje 36km

A long endurance type route that will take you along farm roads, ravine and rivers, single tracks, over mountains offering spectacular views, so bring you camera if so inclined. Often used as a training ground for other more gruelling events but is also a favorite amongst walkers, so no cut-off times. There will again be two water tables, but we encourage hydration packs.

The runners will need to have the following equipment:

-Hydration pack

-Head lamp (still dark at 05:30)

-Nutrition for 24hrs

-Cell phone

-Some kind of emergency clothing

-Hopefully shoes

22km, or just the “22”

A little more popular than its older sister, but still something that needs to be trained for. A combination of single track, farm roads and lots of river crossing as you wind along the river floor.

If you are amongst the leaders you could pass the 10km table but they don’t stick around, so don’t count on a second table. There is one at 10km on top of a massive hill and after that you will find yourself on the valley floor. The river is fine to drink from.

-Hydration packs and nutrition -Cell phone (for emergency)

The 10km and the 5km

These are fairly new and so are still finding their footing. The 5km is pretty short so will stay amongst the immediate area of the venue and will track along farm roads in and out of the sugar cane etc. There will be no water table on this route so we encourage entrants to bring along a water bottle.

The 10km is a little more daunting and will definitely qualify as a healthy morning trot out on Saturday morning. The route is the same as the two main routes but switches away after the first few km’s and then rejoins them for the last 4km. There will be a water table at the 7km mark. The route is mainly farm road, but with a large shaded ravine section with the odd stream to cross.

GOODIE BAGS & T-SHIRTS:

Goodie Bags and T-Shirts to the first 200 entrants in the 36km and 22km.

MEDALS:

Medals to all finishers.

FOOD & BEVERAGES:

Hotdogs, Wors Rolls, Burgers and various drinks will be sold at the venue.

LOCAL ACCOMMODATION:

Camping is available at the venue. People will need to bring their own tents etc.
