ENTRIES CLOSE: MIDNIGHT MONDAY 28 AUGUST 2017.

ENTRANCE FEES TO JIKELEZA FESTIVAL: 

All participants of the Adventure Race will be given free access to the Jikeleza Festival (Start and finish of the Lilyfontein Adventure Race) on Saturday 2 September. 

Participants are can purchase adult discounted tickets for their visitors for R30 (instead of R50) for a full day access pass to the Jikeleza Festival, Inkwenkwezi Private Game Reserve on Saturday 2 September. 

Please note that a maximum of 2 discounted tickets per participant is allowed.

Children’s tickets will not be discounted and cost R25 at the gate. Discounted tickets will be handed out at registration on Friday 1 September. PLEASE NOTE: no visitors will be given access to the adventure race on Saturday 2 September without a festival entrance ticket”

DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE: 

Could include beach, single track and gravel. 

Undulating coastline. 

Features include: coastline and immediate interior, ocean views. 

PRIZES & PRIZE MONEY: 

Over R10 000 in prize money to be won; Loads of Lucky Draw prizes. 

GOODIE BAGS: 

First 450 people to enter and pay will receive a Goodie Bag. 

T-SHIRTS: 

Race shirts will be given out to the first 450 entrants. 

MEDALS: 

There will be trophy/medals for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed teams in each category. 

KIDS ENTERTAINMENT: 

The event takes place at the Jikeleza Festival- there will be entertainment for all supporters of the Adventure Race from 09:00 on Saturday. See http://www.wildcoastjikeleza.co.za/en/ for more details. 

FOOD & BEVERAGES: 

Food will be available on Friday evening during briefings/registration. On Saturday the will be plenty of food, beverages and entertainment provided by the Jikeleza Festival. 

ACCOMMODATION: 

All school teams (U13, U15 & U19) are required to camp on Friday 2 September- Camping fees are included in entry fees for these categories. All other participants and supporters are asked to support the accommodation venues on the Wild Coast Jikeleza Route- see http://www.wildcoastjikeleza.co.za/en/ for details

RACE DESCRIPTIONS:

Corporate Challenge and Corporate Duo (± 110kms):

Cycling, running/hiking and may include paddling and other activities including kloofing, orienteering.

Corporate Crocs and Corporate Crocs Duo (± 60kms):

Cycling, running/hiking and may include other activities such as paddling (boats will be provided), tubing, archery, abseiling, obstacles, swimming, target shooting and horse riding.

U/19 (± 60kms):

Cycling, running/hiking and may include other activities such as paddling (boats will be provided), tubing, archery, abseiling, obstacles, swimming, target shooting and horse riding.

U/15 (± 45kms):

Cycling, running/hiking and may include other activities such as paddling (boats will be provided), tubing, archery, abseiling, obstacles, swimming, target shooting and horse riding.

U/13 (± 30kms):

Cycling, running/hiking and may include other activities such as paddling (boats will be provided), tubing, archery, abseiling, obstacles, swimming, target shooting and horse riding.

Family (must include an adult)/Fun Race (± 30kms):

Cycling, running/hiking and may include other activities such as paddling (boats will be provided), tubing, archery, abseiling, obstacles, swimming, target shooting and horse riding.

Grade 4-5 (± 12kms):

Cycling, running/hiking and may include other activities such as tubing, climbing and obstacles.

Grade 1-3 (± 6kms):

Cycling, running/hiking and many fun obstacles.

This is the provincial qualifying race for the SA Schools Adventure Racing Championships.

All teams must consist of 4 members of which at least one member must be of the opposite gender. Corporate Duo and Corporate Crocs Duo consist of 2 team members of any gender.

There is a maximum of 30 teams per category. 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

All participants are to bring an original, signed Lilyfontein Adventure Race Indemnity Form to registration.

All School teams (U13, U15 & U19) to provide a copy of ID at registration.

REGISTRATION 2017:

Date: Friday the 1st of September 2017.

Time: Registration opens from 14:00 and closes 15 minutes before each race briefing. Briefing times will be confirmed. 

Attendance at the briefing is compulsory. Immediately after the briefing ALL U13, U15 & U19 SCHOOL TEAMS are to remain together. No parents will be allowed access to the teams after the briefing has started until the end of the race.

COMPULSORY EQUIPMENT:

Competitors will be informed about the minimum equipment requirements.

PRIZE GIVING:

Grade 1-3: will be held at ± 11:00 or as soon as the last team crosses the finish line. 

Grade 4-5: will be held at ± 12:00 or as soon as the last team crosses the finish line. 

U19, U15, U13 and Family Fun: will be held at ± 16:00
