A great sponsor, cool weather, good marshaling, competitive batches, a challenging route and stunning venue is a recipe for a fantastic race.  The Battery Centre Midmar Notts was moved out to the Noodsberg area for safety reasons and did very well to draw over 400 competitors on its debut. We think this route is here to stay. It has a nice fast start, going into hills and ending on a flat profile, so is very forgiving and is sure to grow in popularity once the roadies get to know about it.

Winning times were :

90k: 1st overall : Sean Merridew - 2:15:42

2nd          : Gilbert Quevauvilliers - 2:15:44

3rd           :  Bradley Stroberg - 2:15:47

65k: 1st overall : Marc Adam - 1:56:54

2nd overall : Rudi Greyling - 2:01:14

3rd overall : Dave Piper - 2:04:33

27k :  1st overall :  Aaron Wood - 53:03

2nd          :  Duane Wood - 54:52

3rd           :  Reece Sclanders - 59:23

Registration was very disappointing. The young man who registered me registered my chip under another name. When I asked him to please check he said its loaded fine. Then the lady next to him gave me the wrong stickers. I was given stickers for the 65km when I was doing the 90km, which caused me problems at the start. Luckily with the chip I went back in to another kind gentle man who reprogrammed my chip to my name.
