THE LAWNMOWER SHOP DARGLE TRAIL FESTIVAL was a GREAT success despite the horrendous weather predictions.
Tons of racers braved the bad weather warnings and came along to enjoy the family day out.  The weather did exactly the opposite of what was predicted...the rain did not come and the sun even showed its face!
With STIHL banners flying and everything crisp and shining, from the downpours only hours before, the racers lined up in good spirits - and thankfully all finished in equally good spirits!
Struan Campbell  said "Despite the weather predictions I rode the 40km.  Great fun and a very pretty route! Thank you".
"Trail runners raved about the awesome views and MTBers loved the single track and unique river crossing!
The kids also enjoyed their 5km and 200m race as well as all the other kids activities which were organised.
The 40km race was won by Gareth Cook and female winner was Cara Van Haysteen. Cayde Maldoon & Robyn Howard won the 20km. Trail Run winners were Owen Bengu and Monica Steele (12km) and Craig Reese and Bev Stuart (5km). Well done to them all.
Huge thanks go out to our sponsors The Lawnmower Shop based in Howick who service the local Dargle community and STIHL.
And thanks to all the participants who didn't listen to the bad weather reports. Thank you!
