Early Saturday morning, while it was still dark, riders started arriving at the park. They where greeted with coffee, blankets and a cosy fire at the Giba Cafe and while they waited for things to kick off, riders where sharing their thoughts and tactics for the day ahead.
After a race briefing by Downhill Dave, riders could start climbing to the top of the stages. There was a lot of climbing involved and the water tables with the delicious snacks that the guys from Good-2-Go and the Giba Gals put up was a highlight for most riders, especially the chocolate brownies. All the hard work was worth it, as riders where rewarded with beautiful flowing single track, technical downhills and just some great fast track!
This years Giba Gravity Enduro consisted out of 5 stages, the first 4 stages could be done in any order but riders had to finish with the 5th stage. The 5th stage took riders onto the Pure Adventure Free ride track, through an old abandoned house and finished off under the Red Bull arch on the lawn.
At the finish line, riders could sip on some Red Bull, build their own burgers and test out some Lapierre bicycles. We ended the day off with prize giving and thanks to Fox Head South Africa, we had stacks of awesome prizes to give away.
A big thanks to our sponsors Fox, Red Bull, Good 2 Go and Lapierre, without your support this event would not be possible! I would also like to thank everyone who helped us on the day and finally, I would like to thank everyone who did the race and those who just spent the day with us, we had a great time, hope you did to!
